Peer Review Procces
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Authors must submit manuscript through the system for being considered published in JSRET. For being published, manuscript must go through a review process (Double-blind reviewing process). We only publish articles that have been reviewed and approved by highly qualified researchers with expertise in a field appropriate.
The double-blind review process is a method used by JSRET journals to ensure an impartial evaluation of submitted manuscripts. In this process, both the authors and the reviewers are anonymous to each other. Here’s an overview of how it works and its advantages:
How It Works
Submission: Authors submit their manuscript to the journal, ensuring that all identifying information (e.g., names, affiliations) is removed from the main text and figures. The cover letter and title page with author information are usually submitted separately.
Editorial Check: The journal's editorial office checks the manuscript for completeness and ensures that all identifying information has been properly removed. They might also perform a preliminary assessment to ensure the manuscript fits the journal's scope.
Reviewer Selection: The editor selects expert reviewers in the field. Reviewers are chosen based on their expertise and lack of conflict of interest with the authors.
Review Process: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript's quality, significance, originality, and clarity. They provide detailed feedback and recommend whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.
Anonymity: Throughout the process, reviewers do not know the identities of the authors, and vice versa. This anonymity helps prevent biases based on the authors' reputation, institution, or previous work.
Decision: Based on the reviewers' feedback, the editor makes a decision. The decision, along with reviewers' comments, is communicated to the authors without revealing the reviewers' identities.
The steps point number 1 to 5 is considered as 1 round of peer-reviewing process (see grey area in the figure). And, our reviewing process at least goes through 2 round of reviewing process.
- The journal editor or editorial board considers the feedback provided by the peer reviewers and arrives at a decision. The following are the most common decisions:
- accept without any changes (acceptance): the journal will publish the paper in its original form
- accept with minor revisions (acceptance): the journal will publish the paper and asks the author to make small corrections
- accept after major revisions (conditional acceptance ): the journal will publish the paper provided the authors make the changes suggested by the reviewers and/or editors
- revise and resubmit (conditional rejection): the journal is willing to reconsider the paper in another round of decision making after the authors make major changes
- reject the paper (outright rejection): the journal will not publish the paper or reconsider it even if the authors make major revisions
